ARCHIVES MUNICIPALES DE NANCY
In these municipal archives you can find the whole of Nancy, more than 6,5 km of archives! For example, the oldest document, the charter of Duke René II, dating back to 1497. There are also many notable treasures, such as the release of Nancy in 1944, a city plan dating back to 1751, or an aerial photograph of the Nursery park of the th century. Anyone, whether French or foreign, may have access to the archives, provided that they justify their identity. Researchers have the opportunity to obtain a photocopy of the documents that interest them, provided that the operation does not pose any risk to the preservation of the original. It should be noted that scanning work is under way to facilitate the consultation of the greatest number of documents, while preserving them. Currently, more than 5 000 digitized documents are available.
