CRAMPON DOOR
The Porte de la Craffe is the oldest and most monumental of Nancy's gates, with events in both summer and winter.
It's one of Nancy's most emblematic monuments. The oldest and most monumental of Nancy's gates, Porte de la Craffe was built in the late 14th century to protect the city as it expanded. Its windows were arranged to facilitate firing, and its braces provided an overhang for bombarding the enemy with projectiles and boiling liquids. In summer, the roofs of the Porte de la Craffe are home to a guinguette. In winter, during the Saint-Nicolas festivities, enjoy a glass of mulled wine under the vaulted ceiling.
