NURSERY PARK
A royal nursery ideal for walkers and host to sporting events, a veritable green lung in the heart of Nancy.
Linking the new town to the old, this royal nursery was founded by Stanislas in 1765 and opened to the public in 1835, much to the delight of Nancy's residents and visitors alike. Covering 21 hectares of wooded grounds, the Parc de la Pépinière, affectionately known as "Pep" by Nancy residents, is a veritable green lung in the heart of the city. It's a haven of peace for walkers, a children's paradise and an emblematic venue for sports and cultural events organized by the city. In summer, you can even dance! Concerts are regularly held under the delightful rotunda in the spirit of nearby Place Stanislas, a jewel of 18th-century architecture. The rose garden is in full bloom from May onwards. You can sit on a bench at sunset to admire nature, read or simply relax. Or opt for the large lawn surrounded by magnificent flowerbeds. But you can also jog, stroll or cycle here at any time of day, before taking the kids out on the merry-go-round or playground. And you can even go Rosalie riding as a couple, with family or friends, before enjoying a meal at the brasserie. On Sundays, you can cross the park to go to the market in the old town, or visit the Cordeliers chapel next to the Musée lorrain. La Pépinière is certainly a not-to-be-missed spot on your visit to the ducal city.
