PLACE VAUDEMONT
A pleasant square with a southern feel, featuring a neoclassical façade and a pretty fountain.
A new public space was built at the end of the 19th century. In 1867, it was named "Place de Vaudémont". In 1877, Prosper Morey was commissioned to decorate the square. On the west wall of the Héré gate, he created a neoclassical style facade topped with fire pots at the base of which stands a fountain. This fountain, inaugurated in 1881, is topped by a statue of the famous engraver Jacques Callot. Modelled by Charles Pêtre, the busts of the engravers Israël Silvestre and Ferdinand de Saint-Urbain were added to it. To be visited outside of summer and Christmas.
