MAISON DES MAGOT DE ROGÉVILLE
Private mansion with a classical layout from the century, located on rue des Potiers
Situated on rue des Potiers, this mansion with its classical layout dates back to the 18th century. Despite its somewhat faded appearance, it nevertheless retains a charm of yesteryear. This bourgeois residence was owned by the Magot de Rogéville family. Ancient and powerful Mussipontaine family, its members were sometimes lawyers, magistrates but also law professors at the time of the prestigious University of Pont-à-Mousson. Among the famous personalities of this great family is Jean Joseph Magot, a brilliant politician of the end of the 19th century. Former mayor and general councillor, he disappeared in 1883, while Joseph, his brother, continued his benevolent actions in favour of the city of Mussipontaine.
