GENERAL DUROC'S HOUSE
House located at 39 Saint-Laurent Street, with a commemorative plaque
Duke of Friuli but also marshal of the Emperor Napoleon's palace, General Duroc is a man of honour! He was born in 1772 in Pont-à-Mousson, in a house located at n° 39 rue Saint-Laurent. An educated officer, of a modest and affable character, he carried away the regrets of all his former comrades-in-arms. He was succeeded over the centuries by men with strong personalities... In the 19th century, the house became the property of the rich banker Louis Husson, before falling into the hands of General Von Moltkle, commander of the Prussian army, in 1870. In May 1913, on the initiative of the French Remembrance Service, a commemorative plaque was placed on the facade so that the history of these men of the past would not be forgotten.
