PROVOST MARSHAL
A tower symbolizing power and might and which was both the seat of justice and police of the city.
A symbol of power and might, the tower of the Prévôté was built in the 14th century. The Provost's office was both the seat of justice and police for the city and a ford promontory to watch over the fires. Nowadays, the provost is similar to a judge. The tower, erected in the heart of the city of Mussipont, also served as an observatory. Today, this place, located near the chapel of the Institute, bears witness to the rich historical past of Pont-à-Mousson. A place full of history to take into account during your next visit!
