THE COVERED MARKET
A fairly classic market, its aisles host around 70 exhibitors offering fine produce and local delicacies.
Before being a covered market, the building was a religious hospital. It later became an attic and then, destroyed in 1925, finally left its place to the building that you find today in the heart of Pont-à-Mousson. It is a rather classic covered market, after all. The days of the Saturday pig market and the Thursday cattle market are long gone. Today, the alleys are full of fine products and local delicacies. Every Saturday morning, there are about 70 exhibitors waiting in a warm and friendly atmosphere where you can find more and more organic producers. It is the ideal place to do your weekly shopping. The facade is entirely covered by a bay window, surrounded by blue scrap metal. On the facade overlooking the Moselle, a trompe-l'oeil fresco has been created by Didier Pozza. The roof, the windows and the facades have been given a facelift.
