LA FERME DE LA SOULEUVRE
Halfway between Metz and Nancy, welcome to Ferme de la Souleuvre. Cathy, Stéphane, Laurent, Gilles and their team are waiting to introduce you to their fresh products, baked on site: farmhouse sourdough breads and raw-milk cow cheeses. Their boutique also sells farm products from other producers (beer, wine, honey, charcuterie, etc.). From bread to cheese, all follow this golden rule: the product is transformed on the farm. The result lives up to expectations: a bread baked in a wood-fired oven, a tomme full of aromas, not forgetting the house specialty, Souleuvre, which bears a strong resemblance to Munster! A special treat are the "boutons de culotte", thimble-shaped pieces of dry cheese with a chive or curry flavour, which are the perfect accompaniment to a simple salad. Every Saturday, these charming operators set up their little truck at the Metz-Cathédrale market to promote their products.
Smart visit: educational panels are available to help visitors understand how a farm works. You can also take a look at the cows and calves in the barn.
