Located in a 12 ha estate, the stud farm was created in 1768 by the Marquis de la Galaisière on the site of the former royal salt works. The stables have 80 boxes, a riding arena, an insemination centre, a forge and many quarries. The main activity is reproduction. The buildings have the cachet of 18th century industrial architecture, converted into stables and workshops. Following the closure of the insemination centre of the national stud farms on this historic site, the SCIC du Haras de Rosières aux Salines, a breeding centre, was set up in 2012. It brings together its members from breeders of sport horses, race horses, draught horses, ponies, riders, associations, local authorities... On the program: insemination, follow-up of pregnant mares, work of young horses, boarding, etc. The site is not dedicated to tourism, but no one is stopping you from visiting.
