COSTUME MUSEUM
A visit to the military costume museum to discover many objects, some of which are trench crafts
Half a century of military history, from 1900 to 1950, told through military costumes. During this lively visit, we plunge into the past and learn about this dark period through the staging that illustrates the lives of the men in the trenches. The main theme of the tour is the 80 models dressed in colourful or prestigious outfits from the imperial period, ranging from horizon blue, verdigris, mustard or khaki, representing each corps. The uniforms range from the "Piou-Piou" to the GI's uniform. Bigors, Marsouins, Uhlans, Spahis... will have no more secrets for you! Many objects, as rare as they are unusual, are to be discovered: some are trench crafts, others are collections of porcelain or accessories that make up the soldier's kit. A small, little-known museum, which nonetheless pays tribute to the Great War and to the bloody battles of the Saint-Mihiel Salient. Not forgetting the reconstruction of a life-size trench. A beautiful lesson in honour, history and humanity for which we have a duty of memory and respect.
