CERFAV
CERFAV dedicated to contemporary artistic creation around glass, with an agenda of events available on their website
The European Centre for Research and Training in Glass Arts is dedicated to contemporary artistic creation around glass. The aim is to preserve this know-how in Vannes-le-Châtel, a village where glass and crystal work has been going on since 1765. Throughout the year, trainees and apprentices from all over France are trained in glassmaking techniques. The centre also focuses on innovation and technological expertise. It is a meeting place for several worlds: artists, designers, glass craftsmen, apprentices, trainees, students, glass manufacturers and researchers. The Cerfav can receive requests from teachers from art or design schools. Even today, the Daum crystal factory still bases most of its production tool there. The general public is invited to meet them and attend demonstrations at the centre's open doors, scheduled in February and April each year. In July, the students also publicly present their diploma projects. The calendar of events is available on the website.
