The medieval town of Vaudémont is a must-see and is considered the cradle of an intense economic activity
It was at the end of the 11th century that the County of Vaudémont was created, whose capital, Vaudémont, is a stronghold controlling around fifty villages and a territory of 350 km². Until the 17th century, Vaudémont was therefore a real fortress, protected by a large surrounding wall and 12 spaced towers. For a long time, the town was the cradle of intense economic activity. Today it still preserves vestiges of its past status, which it is pleasant to discover. To visit the village and understand its history, some places are not to be missed: the old Le Maistre gate, the remains of the medieval wall, the posterns, the walls of the Brunehaut tower, the church, the cemetery, the old school, the gayoir, the old houses and farms, and others...Visit to be scheduled during your stay.
