AN ITINERARY TO DISCOVER THE MEDIEVAL VILLAGE
Go there and contact
Take a stroll through old Lorraine houses and farms to the remains of the Tour du Guet (watchtower)
By road, you enter the village by crossing the site of the old gate Le Maistre. In front of the Calvary, go down towards the south path to follow the remains of the medieval enclosure. You will discover the posterns and other gates (of the projection) or breaches, the walk will also discover the first restorations of the ramparts and leads to the spur where you can enjoy a magnificent panorama, in the shade of the last still erected walls of the Brunehaut Tower. Return to the centre of the village via the church and the typical cemetery, see the historical exhibition in front of the town hall under the courtyard of the old school and walk down the other side of the spur to the Gayoir, restored in 2004. Go back up to the village via the Rue du Pressoir and the Petite Rue to discover the old houses and farms of Lorraine up to the remains of the Tour du Guet. By the rue du Puits and between the gardens, you can still go and discover the impressive Fosse, still clearly visible, which was the last to defend the town until 1639, the year of its destruction by the troops of Richelieu. An itinerary for heritage enthusiasts if not for a most instructive stroll.
