This gothic style church has beautiful stained glass windows from the early 16th century.
This church was consecrated in 1521. In Gothic style, its huge bell tower dominates Vézelise. It shelters magnificent stained glass windows from the beginning of the 16th century, which are even registered in the regional heritage of the Most remarkable works of art of the Renaissance. They have unfortunately suffered from the many conflicts over the centuries. But researchers, during restoration campaigns, have reconstructed some panels. They discovered that the details mentioned the representation of Saint Barbara and Saint Catherine of Alexandria. So who were these 16th century master glassworkers? Only one of them gives us a rough answer. His initials (I. L.) can be seen in the chapel dedicated to the Virgin. But it is not only the stained-glass windows that deserve to be moved. The organ of the Ancien Régime, with its characteristic Lorraine-style construction, is also worth a visit, as are numerous statues. Visit recommended by the editorial staff.
