ST. STEPHEN'S CHURCH
Church with a flamboyant gothic structure, whose furniture includes many Renaissance works in Bar-le-Duc
This former collegiate church has a basilica floor plan and a flamboyant Gothic structure. The Renaissance façade dates from 1513. The upper sections and the crowning of the north tower date from 1630. The furnishings include numerous Renaissance works, including 2 by Ligier Richier: the Calvary and the Skeleton. The statues of Saint Roch and Saint Adrien are by J. Crocq. An organ with 18th and 19th-century parts completes the furnishings. The church houses the famous "Transi", a landmark work by sculptor Ligier Richier. Not to be missed.
