THE PRESS OF THE FIFTEENTH CENTURY
An impressively large wine press in Bar-le-Duc, one of the few remaining vestiges of the Barrois winegrowing tradition.
Tucked away at the back of the courtyard of a house in the Rue des Ducs de Bar, an impressively large wooden wine press appears. It weighs almost 10 tons! It's the old Combles tree press, installed in Ville-Haute in 1977. The press is one of the few remaining vestiges of the Barrois winegrowing tradition. Concerts are sometimes held here, and artists occasionally exhibit their work. Another curiosity: go through the back door, go downstairs and discover a small garden.
