HOUSE DAMAIN
This house, located between the station and Place Exelmans, is the only one to feature the Art Nouveau style
The Damain house, located between the station and Place Exelmans, is the only one to feature an Art Nouveau style. Parisian architect Jules Renard undertook its construction in 1903, with the intention of showcasing the work of painter-decorator Léon Damain. As a store and exhibition space, the flexible geometric shapes of Art Nouveau can be admired in the ashlar and characterize the doors, windows and balcony. The presence of plant iconography under the roof testifies to the real influence of the École de Nancy.
