THE PREFECTURE HOTEL
A hotel to discover on a stroll through Bar-le-Duc, with a neoclassical façade
The Hôtel de la Préfecture is the perfect place to take a stroll through the town. This historic monument was originally under the command of the Antonists, who in the 17th century were responsible for the administrative management of the hospital. The hospital came to the aid of the sick and destitute. The neoclassical façade was added in 1821 by the departmental architect Dubois. The building then took on political functions. It was enlarged again in 1904 and classified as a historic monument in 1922. It stands in the middle of the Place Reggio, in the heart of the city.
