Castle with park, combining Renaissance and Louis XIV styles and techniques inspired by Eiffel, the HQ of Marshal Pétain in 14-18

Luxurious building (1903-1905) of the Belle Époque, set in a superb park. Work of the Barisian architect J. Renard, mixing Renaissance and Louis XIV styles as well as techniques borrowed from G. Eiffel. The great hall is decorated with walnut woodwork and green marble. It leads to the reception rooms and the winter garden. Thefirst one is distinguished by its balustrade decorated with wrought iron flowers. On thesecond, a terrace with two glass windows. The site was the headquarters of Marshal Pétain in 14-18.

Très original
Construite par un banquier au début du vingtième siècle, le Château de Marbeaumont est un surprenant mélange de styles, Louis XIII, Renaissance, Directoire, Art Nouveau..., tant à l'extérieur qu'à l'intérieur. La toiture d'ardoise avec tourelles et clochetons est impressionnante, ainsi que la vue du premier étage sur les boiseries en noyer et les mosaïques du grand hall. C'est maintenant une médiathèque, et un lieu d'expositions temporaires. Le parc qui l'entoure est un lieu de promenade très plaisant par beau temps.

Si vous êtes en balade dans le Nord meusien, faites un petit tour pour quelques jolies photos au château de Marbeaumont, n'hésitez pas à pénétrer à l'intérieur et à gravir les escaliers. Cet édifice habite la médiathèque de la ville et pour terminer faites un tour dans le parc arboré et fleuri en fonction de la saison
