PAVILION OF THE RESISTANCE AND THE DÉPORTATION
A pavilion containing numerous testimonies to the dark days of Grenade-sur-l'Adour.
Grenade-sur-l'Adour became a martyred town on June 13, 1944, when maquisards intercepted a German convoy, leading to reprisals. The population, gathered in the town square under the threat of machine-gun fire, had to watch as the town's main buildings were set on fire. Fifty people were taken hostage, many of them deported. The Pavillon de la Résistance et de la Déportation (Resistance and Deportation Pavilion) brings together numerous accounts of this dark period.
