Visit the abbey's sacred crypt dedicated to Saint Girons.
Of the 11th century abbey built to the glory of Saint Girons, only the crypt is still visible today on the heights of the city. Listed as a historical monument, it housed the tomb of Saint Girons, a Christian saint from the5th century. On the road to Santiago de Compostela, it is an object of worship and veneration for pilgrims. In the center, four marble columns frame the slightly elevated space where the sacred sarcophagus containing the insignificant relics of Saint Girons rested. Guided tours during the vacations.
