SAINT-CHARLES HOSPITAL
Hospital entrusted to the Sisters of Saint-Charles, replacing an old Maison-Dieu, with chapel and original pharmacy
Thanks to the generosity of their princes, the burghers of Commercy launched the construction of the Saint-Charles hospital to replace their abandoned Maison-Dieu... Attested as early as the beginning of the 15th century, Commercy's hospital was transformed into an Ursuline convent in 1708. Transferred to avenue Stanislas, it was entrusted to the sisters of Saint-Charles. The hospital has preserved its original pharmacy, with storage shelves on which pots, albarelles, Lorraine earthenware chevrettes and bronze mortars are still kept. Listed as a Historic Monument since 1998.
