The house now houses an approved music conservatory in Commercy.
Its central location (place Charles-de-Gaulle) makes the Maison de la Musique a key venue for Commercy's artistic development. The Maison de la Musique was originally a former town hall, intended to replace the former auditorium on rue Colson. The building was constructed in 1759 by order of Stanislas, in the purest classical tradition of the 18th century: the stone dividers are clearly visible on the first floor, the main façade is punctuated by three large entrance portals... Listed and protected as a Monument Historique in 1983, the building now houses an accredited music conservatory. In all, there are up to 240 students (and almost as many instruments!) and a teaching staff of 15, covering a wide range of disciplines.
