NATIVITY CHURCH

Built in the 11th-12th centuries, the church, with its bell tower at the crossroads of the transept and its polygonal chevet, has been redesigned several times, mixing Romanesque and Gothic style. Major work was done in the 18th-19th centuries. The imposing baroque canopy high altar was purchased in 1792 from the abbey of Evaux. In a side chapel, we can admire an 8-person tombstone, dating from the late 16th century, which is attached at the time of Christ's anointing before his burial. This church, full of remarkable works of art, also has a baptismal tank dating from 1806 made of limestone and oak wood. It is totally carved with irises and reeds, except for the rim which imitates a braiding of rushes. The lid forms the continuation of a basket, which houses Moses wrapped in a cloth.
