ORX MARSH NATURE RESERVE
A remarkable nature reserve in Labenne, an important ornithological site, a store and information area on site.
This vast 1,000-hectare property, owned by the Conservatoire du Littoral, has been classified as a National Nature Reserve in recognition of its strong ornithological interest. Dating from the Napoleonic era, the Maison d'accueil (or Maison Béziers) marks the starting point of the discovery tour. Access to the site is via a wooden footbridge, allowing observation of species including turtles, rodents such as the coypu, and a variety of birds including the great cormorant, the white spoonbill and the grey heron. On-site: binoculars and spotting scopes for hire, ticket office for guided tours.
