FOUNTAIN-WASH
The fountain-washing fountain is worth a stop on the main road of the village. With the Mauvages that is nearby, it is one of the only two to be built in half-circle in a Gallo-Roman style and its original design to the architect Lerouge of Commercy. On both sides of a large bay supported by four columns with Doric chapiteau, this lavoir presents a decor inspired by Greco-Roman mythology. On the aquatic background, two exactly tritons taillés tentacles around a trident. A carved entablature bears a Latin inscription for the Haudelaincourtois which translates into: " Here, bucolic nymphs, glitters your money boxes without restriction for the citizens ". The interior of the building houses four niches niches niches. The meeting of sources acquired in 1848 by the municipality allows for water supply. Built in stone between 1848 and 1851, this fountain-washing fountain was classified as a historic monument in 1988.
