FOUNTAIN AND STATUE OF SUMMER
In the th century, the steel industry developed in Lorraine and the cast-iron was also exploited by many famous artists and engineers. Situated in the centre of the village of Haroy, this fountain is also a stone's throw from 1880. It consists of a round basin that is fed in water by four heads of cast iron lion. In his summit one can contemplate a statue of Greco-Roman inspiration made by Mathurin Moreau (1822-1912). Christened the Summer and emerged from the Val d'Osne art foundry, she represents a young angélique éphèbe with the lackadaisical attitude relying on a stick, a free figure figure of the season, for which the sculptor received a prize at the World Exposition of 1855.
