Monument in memory of the 2,000 Italian volunteers who enlisted for France before Italy entered the war
Sober stone monument in memory of the 2,000 Italian volunteers who enlisted for France before Italy entered the war (early 1915). This Italian Legion was commanded by Peppino Garibaldi, grandson of the famous Giuseppe. 590 Italian soldiers died during the Argonne battles, including two other Garibaldi, Bruno and Constante. The monument (a wall framed by columns) bears their portraits. It was inaugurated in 1932.
