EXPOSITION DES LAVANDIERES

Each year, the association Détente and Culture in Argonne organizes an exhibition on the lavandières in the "big wash" of Lavoye. It allows the general public to discover, thanks to stage recovery and explanation, the work of these women at the beginning of the twentieth century, their gestures and their daily lives at the washing machine. The exhibition also covers the history of these buildings, their method of construction and the need for each municipality to have a washing machine from the th century.
