A ridge steeped in history at Les Éparges, a necropolis and several monuments punctuate the discovery trail.
Located on the Meuse coast, the Éparges ridge was the scene of fierce fighting during the First World War, not least because of its strategic position. The assault by the French army on February 17, 1915 was the starting point for fighting and mine warfare, the violence of which is illustrated by the numerous explosion craters littering the ground. The site was liberated in September 1918 when the American army intervened. A national necropolis at the foot of the ridge and various monuments punctuate the discovery trail.
