CAMP MARGUERRE
A military base located in the middle of the Woëvre plain, a few kilometers north-east of Verdun, near Duzey
The Marguerre camp, built in 1915 under the orders of German Captain Hans Marguerre, is located in the Gouraincourt forest next to the commune of Loison. This village, at the rear of the German front, served at the time as a study camp. Reinforced concrete was also produced here. Set in the middle of the woods, it still includes the captain's house, barracks and blockhouses. It is possible to visit the site together with the Duzey battery: information from the Spincourt syndicate.
