FORMER REFUGE OF THE ABBEY OF ORVAL
Former refuge of the abbey of Orval, with a remarkable facade with a Renaissance aspect, in Marville.
In 1518, the monks of the Abbey of Orval bought and renovated a house in the town of Marville to protect themselves from need and the passage of enemies. During the 18th century, the house lost its function as a refuge and underwent several exterior transformations. While the street door and facade date from the 18th century, as indicated by the inscription engraved in the stone above the door, the facade on the other side has not been altered and still retains a Renaissance appearance.
