ST. NICHOLAS CHURCH
Church remarkable for its size and beautiful features
The church was built in the 13th century to compensate for the small size and remoteness of the original Saint-Hilaire church. Initially a hall church, it was gradually surrounded by six chapels as Marville, Luxembourg's second-largest city in the 16th century, grew in influence. The church is remarkable for its size and fine 16th-century features: the south portal flanked by two pinnacles and covered by a basket-handle arch, the adjoining Renaissance-style chapel and the beautiful organ loft with its finely crafted balustrade.
