JULES BASTIEN-LEPAGE MUSEUM
Museum dedicated to one of Lorraine's greatest artists, featuring a fine collection of drawings, objects and works of art
Museum dedicated to one of the greatest artists of Lorraine, Jules Bastien-Lepage (1848-1884), born in Damvillers. A beautiful collection of drawings never exhibited, objects and works on deposit from the Musée lorrain (Nancy) and the Musée Rodin (Paris). A naturalist painter and engraver, the artist first produced academic subjects. The Impressionists and Realists then exerted their strong influence, leading the artist to everyday scenes and peasant portraits.
