A place of remembrance, a symbol of the Franco-American friendship forged on the battlefield, to be shared with younger generations

At the top of a mound, a rotunda of 6 columns recalls the engagement of 10 American divisions in the reconquest of the Saint-Mihiel Salient, from Pont-à-Mousson to the Argonne. From September 26 to November 11, the Allies regained the positions they had lost in 1914 and pushed back an exhausted German army. The monument of Montsec was built by the Americans and offers an exceptional panorama. A place of memory to be known by the young generations.

un monument américain en mémoire de la participation des Etats Unis à la guerre. cela vaut déjà le déplacement, mais ce qu'aucun visiteur n'oubliera, c'est l'extraordinaire panorama qui s'y découvre

superbe rotonde avec des colonnes doriques qui domine le lac de Madine, point de vue magnifique par beau temps ( carte en bronze très explicative au milieu du monument). pour les marcheurs laissez la voiture près du cimetière de Montsec et montez la colline en passant par la forêt.
