NATIVITY SCENE MUSEUM
Museographic space exhibiting more than 400 nativity scenes from over 50 different countries on a surface of 200 m²
Paul Alexandre is an enthusiast who, in 1998, installed a collection of cribs in a building dating from 1840 in the heart of a small village in northern Meuse-Muzeray. In 2005, the place becomes public for the great pleasure of children and adults. Experience the magic of Christmas... Come and discover this museographic space with more than 400 nativity scenes from over 50 different countries exhibited on a surface of 200 m², all in different materials and sizes. The museum renews its collections every 2 years. In 2020, a Provencal village was reconstituted on a space of some 18 m² containing 43 houses; 4,200 tiles, 107 santons dressed in a decor in the colours of Provence. Every even-numbered year, a festival is organized from December 10 to December 31 where 500 cribs of all kinds and origins are offered to the amazed eyes of visitors. They are also exhibited outside the walls, in the priest's gardens amidst aromatic plants, on the windows of village houses or in barns on loan during the month of December.
