NOTRE-DAME DE MASSEY CHAPEL
Hillside chapel facing the Meuse River, featuring a single nave with 3 bays of vaulting and a high relief
This charming chapel stands on a hillside overlooking the Meuse, which meanders below. Legend has it that a 12th-century feudal lord swore to dedicate a place to the Virgin Mary if he ever regained his freedom. Escaping in spite of his chains, it was here, on the hillsides of Longor, that he suddenly opened his shackles... and kept his word. Joan of Arc came here in February 1429, the beginning of her incredible destiny.
