André Maginot (1877-1932). His name is forever associated with the famous 140 km long defensive line on the north-eastern border. A native of Revigny, Maginot made it possible to vote the necessary credits for its construction. After the national funeral, celebrated in 1932 at the Invalides in Paris, his remains were brought to Revigny-sur-Ornain. This statue, inaugurated on 27 October 1935, personifies the power of the orator, accompanied by a soldier of the colonial army and a Poilu. It disappeared in 1942, only to be remoulded later
