The Saillon de Saint-Mihiel, formed by the Bavarian Corps on September 25, 1914.
On September 25, 1914, the3rd Bavarian Corps formed a 20 km salient in the French position at Saint-Mihiel, controlling the entire Woëvre plain until 1918. Today, many traces of the fighting remain visible: trenches, forts, memorials, cemeteries and more. Many structures have also been reconstructed. Hiking trails and picnic areas. Guided tours available (booking required).
