SAINT-LEONARD CHURCH
Not far from Saint-Pierrevillers, the municipality of Senon has the beautiful church Saint-Léonard, classified Historic monument since 1906. Until the beginning of the th century, the municipality had only one chapel, a branch of the Amel church. In 1526, Leonard Valtrin obtained from Pope Clement VII the disunity of Senon and Amel. The church was built ten years later. It is of Gothic Gothic style, which is rare in the eastern part of France and has also attracted the influence of the Renaissance, which is admired in the portal. Modified over the centuries, it also suffers from the damage of the First World War. Damaged during the Second World War, it was rebuilt with one of the first reinforced concrete structures. This also explains the presence of the th century windows that are signed Grüber, as often in this sector. It enjoys a rich cultural and religious heritage: a flower presenting the 12 signs of the Zodiac, a altarpiece representing the famous Supper of Leonardo da Vinci, a cross road in excellent condition and other wonders.
