Museum in Varennes-en-Argonne, dedicated to the great events of local history, housing various materials, uniforms, weapons
Next to the Pennsylvania Memorial. Opened in 1973, this museum is dedicated to major events in local history. The first section is devoted to the arrest of the royal family at Varennes in 1791. You can admire various portraits of Marie-Antoinette and a relief map of the city. The second section is dedicated to the arts and popular traditions of the Argonne. Finally, the third section focuses on the Great War and the fighting that took place in the region (including the so-called mine battles). You can observe various materials, uniforms, weapons, etc.
