CASTLE CHAPEL
This chapel has 26 stained glass windows made in Nancy and houses a statue of Notre-Dame des Voûtes
The chapel was part of the former Château de Vaucouleurs. Joan of Arc, as she prepared to leave for Chinon, meditated on the site of the present-day chapelle Castrale, built in 1923-1929. The chapel has been restored and rebuilt. Today, the crypt is the only period feature to have survived intact. It houses a statue of Notre-Dame-des-Voûtes, before which Joan of Arc used to pray. The chapel also features 26 stained-glass windows made in Nancy. Outside, the east gable is topped by a monumental statue of Jehanne (3 m).
