Carmel of Verdun, welcoming people who wish to make a spiritual retreat in silence and solitude
Verdun welcomed the "Daughters of Saint Theresa" in 1634. Like many monasteries and abbeys, the Carmelite convent disappeared during the French Revolution on May 14, 1790. In 1924, the Carmelites of Rouvroy, in Belgium, from the community of Nancy, sought to return to France. The diocese of Verdun welcomed them with joy. This monastery gladly welcomes, for a few days, people who wish to make a spiritual retreat, in silence and solitude, in a monastery, supported by the liturgical prayer of a community.
