Gate with two drawbridges, battlements and machicolations, a well-preserved monument in Verdun, to be discovered.
North of Verdun. In 1877, the decision was made to breach the city walls in order to link the new station (located outside) to the centre of Verdun. Verdun having been surrounded by Vauban, the construction of the Porte Saint-Paul required the opening of the Avenue Garibaldi. Well preserved, the monument still has its two drawbridges in working order, battlements, machicolations and all its mechanisms.
