Museum located in the former guardhouse opposite the Citadel, retracing the career of Michel Dupré, a Mayenne designer.

Opposite the Citadelle, the former guardhouse, abandoned for years, now houses a museum. Opening in 2023, it traces the career of Michel Dupré, the Mayenne draughtsman who was swept up in the war in 1914, thanks to his many drawings, but also to Pierre Brancher, a photographer in the same regiment. A faithful reconstruction with an exceptional collection of objects that belonged to the Poilus. A 3-in-1 venue, the museum also includes a bar/restaurant and a store.

Musée très intéressant et bonne reconstitution des uniformes. Complet et vraiment captivant ! Quant au restaurant, très bonne ambiance, plats consistants, serveurs agréables et à l’écoute.

I accidentally stumbled in this small museum but it was a great experience. It's privately owned and organized with some passion. In the museum you get the story of a certain soldier during WW 1 while lots of items are on display. Be aware that you have to read all the text to get the story.

There's also a restaurant and antique shop for military items on sight.

Très beau musée qui permet de suivre et de mieux connaître le quotidien de soldats au travers de leurs textes, dessins et photographies personnels.
Un grand bravo au collectionneur pour tous ces objets d'époque et à la réalisation de ce beau projet malgré les difficultés rencontrées ! Merci de nous faire partager cette passion!

Restaurant chaleureux dans un lieu atypique. Découvrez cet établissement qui rend hommage aux combattants de la première guerre mondiale. J'ai apprécié le personnel agréable et l'ambiance de ce restaurant. Il y a même un musée pour ceux qui veulent en savoir plus sur cette période historique.
