13 December 1920: the City and County of London Committee, intended to come to the aid of a French city devastated by war, chose Verdun, 85% destroyed in 1916. The London quay was financed in this way, a project that took 4 years to complete (1921-1924). Renovations have transformed it into a pleasant walk along the Meuse. le charme de Verdun
On vient à Verdun pour l'horreur de l'histoire. Et on découvre les quais de la Meuse avec ses cafés, ses terrasses où s'assoient les visiteurs des sites historiques et les habitants de la ville. Certains s'y délassent, d'autres méditent sur ce qu'ils ont vu. Chacun se détend au soleil en ces lieux apaisants et très beaux

Promenade très agréable sur les quais où règnent une atmosphère très particulière voire apaisante. Pour peu qu'il y est un peu de soleil, on se laisse aller à trainer un peu et à boire un verre sur une des terrasses de café. Un petit espace en centre ville qui permet de respirer au fil de l'eau.
