SHANTYTOWN OF TRUCES
Slightly renovated in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, this castle is built by Gilles de Trêves, who had bought the property to the ducs of Bar and made this stone house of Perthois a resort in 1550. Ligier Richier would have drawn this Renaissance-style book for his friend. In 1892, the stationery and castle were purchased by the Claudel family. This is where Paul Claudel, during a stay at his cousins, wrote one of his masterpieces, "Le Partage de Midi" in 1905. Over the centuries, the owners have paid special attention to the approval of the park, classified as a remarkable park of France. It houses over 500 species of trees, shrubs and flowers. It is full of rare essences such as Virginia tulips and purple beech, and has an exceptional world collection of seringates (150 varieties), also known as poet jasmins. To chill in June for their delicious fragrance… There are also over 400 herbaceous peonies and countless irises. This park is now considered a museum of native native species. Its unique charm is also due to its cascade of Saulx, which passes nearby. It's a bucolic atmosphere.
