MEROVINGIAN NECROPOLIS ARCHAEOLOGICAL AREA
We can see several ancient statues representing Hercules (end I, beginning of iie century), Hermaphrodite (iie century), Jupiter in the Anguipède (third century), a female head considered Junon (iie century), a Minerve helmet (daughter of Jupiter, iie century); several elements of a Roman aqueduct and the reproduction of a part of Gallo-Roman mosaic. The collections are supplemented by weapons and jewelry found in the Merovingian tombs revealed in 1880 during the excavation of an open pit mine and more recently in other tombs found in the fifties. Ceramics and pottery potteries of Villeroy and Boch are also visible, because Audun-le-Tiche is the city where the activity of this company began two and a half centuries ago. Do not hesitate to contact the association for more information.
