GREAT ARNSBOURG CASTLE
Ruins of the castle of Grand Arnsbourg dating from the 12th century, including those of the keep and its defensive wall
By a narrow path which climbs, one can reach the ruins of the castle of Grand Arnsbourg in 2 hours. Built in the 12th century at a height of 476 meters, this castle did not last long and was unfortunately razed in 1525 by the Roustaud family. The visible ruins are those of the keep and its defensive wall. In Baerenthal, a legend says that the ruins of the castle are the secret hiding place of a huge underground wine cellar... All that remains is to find the entrance!
